About Kaye Marvins Photography

In 1935, third generation
portrait photographer Kaye Marvins and his wife, Sonia
arrived in the small city of Houston. Their dream to
start a studio dedicated to the finest quality portrait
and wedding photography and warm personal service. Soon
that dream was a reality and Kaye Marvins Photography
became famous not only in Houston but all over the
United States.
The Studio became one of the first in the world to offer
color portraits and color wedding coverage's. And,
building on his father’s expertise in natural lighting,
Kaye introduced the country to the outdoor portraiture
that is so popular today. Portraits made be Kaye Marvins

Marvins so we can get to know each other and discuss the look
you have in mind. And we will be happy to help with ideas on
clothing, backgrounds, posing styles and location. Whether you
choose casual or classic, color or black and white, our goal is
to help you create portraits you’ll treasure for a lifetime.

The Studio - Indoors and Outside
We are located in one of Houston’s fine old homes. Here you’ll
find a full range of classic and contemporary studio
backgrounds, shady porches, sunny window seats, and year-round
gardens designed for beautiful portraits.
Parks and the Museum District
Just a couple of minutes from our front door are dozens of
unique parks with every kind of setting you can imagine. From
formal gardens to lakes and bridges, the choice of yours.
Home and More
Appointments at your own home or vacation home are special and
have even more meaning as the years go by. Sittings can also be
done in the Woodlands, Pearland, Clear Lake, Katy and Galveston.
And, be sure to check the dates on our yearly portrait outings
to the Beach, and the Texas Hill Country.

Whether it’s a family group of twenty, a CEO or an active two
year old we take the time to make sure everyone has a wide
variety of poses and expressions from which choose. Be prepared

experienced in putting everyone at ease and capturing just the
